LA FAMA
Thesis
La Fama is a neighborhood in the city of Santa Catarina in Nuevo León. This neighborhood was a pioneer in the region's textile industry, having been founded over 160 years ago due to the La Fama Yarn and Textile Factory, which attracted inhabitants to the area and formed a community.
The inhabitants of La Fama refer to themselves as "Fameños" instead of using any other regional demonym. For them, being a "Fameño" is a source of pride, a pride that persists through their rich history and architecture.
This project was my thesis, which lasted for one year. It was a multidisciplinary thesis where we worked alongside architects, fashion designers, industrial designers, interior designers, and animators.
My role in the thesis, in addition to conducting research and developing strategies to improve the quality of life for the Fameños, included developing a typography from scratch inspired by the neighborhood, its architecture, and landmarks. I also created and developed a visual system for the brand, designed BTL and ATL advertising strategies along with a digital strategy, and designed master graphics to be used in both analog and digital strategies.
